A 40-year-old Flora man has been arrested for manufacture/delivery of 3,000 to 5,000 grams of cannabis and possession of a controlled substance after nine pounds of cannabis were seized following the execution of a search warrant.

Raymond Lee Pickens had bond set at $25,000 in Clay County Court on Friday.

The Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force executed the search warrant in the 800 block of South State Street in Flora on Thursday after Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers developed information while investigating a poaching complaint.   In addition to the cannabis and other illicit narcotics, 13 illegally taken deer heads were seized.

The investigation remains open and ongoing.  No other information is currently being released.

The Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force is comprised of the Salem Police Department, the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, the Robinson Police Department, and the Illinois State Police. This investigation was a cooperative effort amongst the member police departments and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources in an effort to curb drug usage and violence in the area.
