Centralia Police have arrested six juveniles in connection with a September 30th incident where they allegedly jumped a 13-year-old girl and took her cell phone.

Police were arriving at the scene as the 13-year-old girl’s father was leaving to take his daughter to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

Centralia Police Lieutenant Steve Whritenour says only two of the six appear to have had physical contact with the victim.   The 15 and 16-year-old girls were arrested for aggravated battery and mob action.  They were detained pending further court action.

The other four, two 12-year-old girls, a 16-year old female, and a 14-year-old male, were all released on notices to appear in court for mob action.

Centralia Police say the fight was recorded on a cell phone which they obtained.  It was used to determine what happened and those involved.

Police have not determined what started the altercation.

It was first reported to police around 5:30 last Wednesday night, September 30th.
