The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting new COVID-19 related deaths in both Marion and Washington County.   They are among 44 additional deaths being reported statewide.   The death would be the 114th in Marion County.   It has not yet been added to the Marion County COVID-19 update.

The Marion County Health Department is reporting just four new cases for the past two days.  None of the cases were in long-term care facilities.  One was a student on full remote.  Three of the cases are listed as community spread and one from household/close contact.

The health department reports 22 active cases in isolation, including eight who are hospitalized.   None are on ventilators.   There were no additional cases released on Wednesday.

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 12 new positive cases from last Friday through Wednesday.   There are 38 still in isolation and two who are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting eight new cases on Wednesday.  22 remain in isolation.

The Washington County Health Department is reporting two new cases on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Nine cases remain active and one person is hospitalized.

Fayette County is reporting two new cases.  There are currently nine in isolation.

Clay County and Wayne County are both reporting one new case for Tuesday.

 

There were 2,104 new cases reported statewide.  The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days remains at 2.4-percent.    The Southern Illinois Region is at 1.6-percent.  Marion County’s rate is at six-tenths of a percent.

 

Statewide, an additional 82,449 vaccines were administered on Tuesday to bring the total to 2,900,341.   In Marion County, 6,946 doses have been administered.   There are now 2,208 who are fully vaccinate or 5.87-percent of the population.
