The SC Cougars honored the 5-year anniversary of the program’s only IHSA State Baseball title on Saturday, prior to their game with rival Odin/Patoka/Sandoval. Many of the players from that team were on hand to be recognized.

Moore With 4 Hits As Farina South Central Varsity Cougars Beat Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles
Hudson Moore collected four hits in five at bats, as Farina South Central Varsity Cougars defeated Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles 11-8 on Saturday. Moore singled in the first inning, doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
Farina South Central Varsity Cougars got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Moore singled to right field, Aiden Hoover walked, and Garret Shumate walked, each scoring one run.

Moore earned the win for Farina South Central Varsity Cougars. The pitcher allowed three hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking six. Brady Cain took the loss for Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles. The right-handed pitcher went four and one-third innings, giving up seven runs (four earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking six. Luke Shumate and Hoover each appeared in relief for Farina South Central Varsity Cougars.
Farina South Central Varsity Cougars amassed 13 hits in the game. Ryker Dodson, Moore, Hoover, and Tockstein each drove in one run for Farina South Central Varsity Cougars. Shumate collected two hits for Farina South Central Varsity Cougars in three at bats. Shumate led Farina South Central Varsity Cougars with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Moore and Eli Hiestand each stole multiple bases for Farina South Central Varsity Cougars. Ben Spencer, Beau Chapman, Drew Haines, Kyan Walker, and Lance Nix each drove in one run for Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles. Austin Hoffman went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles in hits. Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Haines, Blaize Murray, and Nix led the team with two bases on balls each.
