Two Centralia men have been formally charged in Marion County Court Monday on felony drug charges following a late Sunday night traffic stop in Centralia.

The driver, 45-year-old Ryan Garrison of South Maple, was charged with possession with intent to deliver five to 15 grams of meth and possession of under five grams of meth.   Bond was set at $20,000 and a public defender was appointed to represent Garrison.

A passenger in the car, 46-year-old Mark Smith of South Chestnut, was charged with possession of under five grams of meth.  His bond was set at $5,000 and a public defender was appointed to represent him.  Smith is extended-term eligible due to a prior conviction.

Centralia Police say they originally stopped the car because they believed Garrison was wanted by Wamac Police on another charge they later learned he had been cleared.   However, police investigated for drugs after allegedly seeing Smith place a baggie into a half-empty soda bottle.  Garrison was allegedly found in possession of a total of six baggies weighing a total of 15 grams.
