The Salem City Council has scheduled a special meeting for 5:15 Monday afternoon to consider establishment of a foundation for the benefit of the city.
The agenda includes election of officers, approving articles of incorporation, adopt by laws, authorize bank account and authorize application for non- profit status with the IRS.
The specific purposes of the corporation include providing educational programs and resources to underserved individuals and families, supporting community development initiatives, conducting charitable activities that improve the quality of life in local communities and receiving and administering contributions for charitable, educational, and related exempt purposes.
