52 percent of the registered voters went to the polls in Tuesday’s general election.
That’s what County Clerk Steve Fox was anticipating.
“I think we really had a good election in whole. Again, the new equipment really performed well. I had one machine that gave little issues, which we had to remove but otherwise, everything else was going good. I had a good turnout, I think, right on track with what I thought we would see. Very much in line with the 2018 Gubernatorial election. I think the Governor’s race more or less drove the vote in Marion County. We didn’t have a lot of contested local races, just a few on the county board.”
Fox says there were just a few minor issues in getting the votes counted. He says the reduced number of precincts approved after the 2020 US Census has allowed him to fill all the election judge positions with quality candidates.
