Marion County Coroner Troy Cannon says a forensic examination of the body of 54-year-old Tracey Cook of Centralia shows the injuries to be consistent with being run over by a trailer from a semi.

Cannon feels the evidence is consistent with what investigators can see on video surveillance cameras in the area of the early Thursday morning incident near the Broadway and Locust Street intersection. He reports there are no injuries other than what Cook sustained in the incident.

Cannon says her death is directly attributed to multiple blunt force trauma and has been certified as an accident.

Centralia Police earlier said the video showed Cook appearing to lunge for the door of a cab of a slow-moving semi at Broadway and Locust and no longer being visible after the truck passed.  She is then believed to have been run over by the trailer as the truck proceeded through the Locust and Noleman Street intersection.

The Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is assisting the family with arrangements.  A full obituary is available in the obituary section of WJBDradio.com.  A Go Fund Me account has been set up to assist the family with arrangements and to help them through the days ahead.

Cannon says his office staff extends their sincere condolences to her family and friends.  He’s also commending and thanking the Centralia Police Department, Illinois State Police Crash Reconstruction Division, and ISP Crime Scene investigators for their assistance and keen investigative skills.

Cannon says his office considers the matter closed.

Centralia Police indicated they are continuing their investigation and would be releasing more information later.
