The Marion County Health Department is reporting no new COVID-19 related deaths in their weekly report, but say six congregate care facilities remain in outbreak status. Meanwhile, the CDC tracker is reporting just 17 new COVID-19 cases in Marion County in the week ending Thursday. That’s down 32-percent. There were two new hospitalizations. Marion County and all of South Central Illinois remain at the low transmission level.
Of the Marion County congregate care facilities in outbreak status, one has 37 positives, another 23 and a third 12. The other facilities are in single digits at two, three and nine positive cases.
Clinton County is reporting 18 new COVID-19 cases for the week, a 33 percent decline and one new hospitalization. Jefferson County had 18 new cases, a 19-percent decline, and one new hospitalization. Washington County and Wayne County both had under ten new cases and one new hospitalization apiece. Fayette County had 11 new cases, a 37 percent increase, and two new hospitalizations. Clay County had 15 new cases, a 50-percent drop, and one new hospitalization.
Statewide,10,416 new COVID-19 cases were reported along with 52 deaths since October 7th.
As of Thursday night, 991 individuals in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 112 patients were in the ICU and 39 patients were on ventilators.
