The 32nd Annual Antique Power Days opens at the Marion County Fairgrounds on Thursday and continues through Sunday.
One of the coordinators Sean Earle says activities get underway at nine Thursday morning for what is expected to be a large consignment auction of farm equipment.
“We have got Oliver this year as our future. We don’t have a particular club or anything but as you can see we are starting to get quite a little collection of Oliver’s. We have got plenty of International’s, John Deere, a lot of auction stuff coming in. It’s shaping up to be a fine show.”
Earle says there will be several special features of the show.
“Hot farm stock pull on Friday evening in sanction with the Illinois Stock Pullers Association. That’s a $10 admission to the grand stand. We have a weighted tractor pull starting at 9:30 Saturday morning. We have the Farm Toy Show from 9-5 on Saturday and Farm Toy Auction that begins at 10 on Saturday as well.”
Earle says visitors will be able to look over all of the machinery and see demonstrations of how life used to be on the farm. He says you’ll also want to make sure to stop by the Antique Power Club’s museum.
“1950’s era dealership, lawn mower and implement dealership setup. There’s an old time school and house setting. Old equipment, feed mill sacks, and that type of stuff.”
Admission to the fairgrounds is $5 for the show on Saturday and Sunday.
