Jay Bartley Soger, 61, passed away on March 31, 2026. He was born on April 4, 1964.
Jay was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his father, Gary Soger; his sister, Jeannie (Tim) Anderson; and his three children, Jayme (Adam) Coffman, Hannah Soger, and Zachary Soger. He was a proud and loving Papaw to his grandchildren, Oliver and Elliott, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Soger.
Jay and Lisa Soger shared many years together, and together built a family centered around love.
He was known as one of the hardest-working men you could meet, dedicating his life to providing for his family and ensuring they had opportunities and experiences he deeply valued. He was also a natural leader who made those around him feel welcome. He led with kindness and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Though his work often kept him busy, his love and commitment to his family were always clear.
Jay had a creative spirit and a passion for building and tinkering. He loved fishing, taking on new projects, and bringing ideas to life. He was especially known for his inventive barstool racer and for creating unforgettable Halloween decorations and haunted houses that brought excitement and joy to neighborhood kids year after year. He also cherished mushroom hunting, taking his kids out each spring to search for morel mushrooms.
He cherished time spent with his family, especially traveling to places like Disney World, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic, and making lasting memories with those he loved most.
Jay will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his creativity, and his deep love for his family. He will be greatly missed.
