The National Weather Service has found two tornado tracks in Clinton County from Monday night’s storms.
The first tornado stretched from Illinois Route 4 in Mascoutah to south of Trenton, where a few homes were damaged. The 9.65-mile-long tornado was on the ground from 7:53 to 8:03 pm. It was rated an EF-1 with a maximum wind speed of 110 miles per hour.
The second tornado began southwest of Germantown and ended south of Carlyle, for a total distance of 11.66 miles. It was also rated EF-1 with a maximum wind speed of 110 miles per hour. It was on the ground from 8:06 to 8:18 pm. The tornado destroyed several mobile homes in Germantown, with trees and tree limbs falling into several homes.
The storm also caused extensive power outages in Clinton County, with a large number of crews working Monday night and Tuesday to restore power.
