Roxana got an RBI groundout in the sixth inning as they nipped Salem 2-1 in Roxana in a Cahokia Conference baseball game.  Salem opened the scoring in the top of the first on an RBI single from Logan Butts.  The Shells tied it with a run in the 2nd and we stayed there until the sixth.  Salem’s Luke Boldt was great on the mound allowing just 2 hits and no earned runs in the tough luck loss.  He struck out 4.  Keytin Grawe had a good day at the plate for Salem adding 2 doubles.  Salem falls to 6-18 overall and 2-5 in the Cahokia as they will host Roxana tomorrow.


The JV Cats scored 6 runs in the third inning as they beat visiting Roxana 7-1Kaden Cripps drove in 2 runs.  Scout Puricelli and Bentley Bryan had 2 hits each.  Jax Schaubert earned the win allowing 1 run over 5 innings.  Tripp Garden added a single along with Nicholi Marhanka.  The JV Cats are 6-10 on the season.


The Mt Vernon Rams back at it today at home hosting Herrin.  The Rams swept Cahokia in a pair of 15-0 wins at Brennan Klein Field on Tuesday.


The North Clay Cardinals beat Windsor/Stew-Stras 7-3.  The Cards trailed 3-1 in the sixth when they scored 6 runs, Ian Jones went 3-4 and Cayden Craig and Cooper Lewis drove in 2 runs each.  Cody Zimdars was the winning pitcher in 2.1 innings of relief of Trevan Sidwell who was the starter.


Odin/Patoka/Sandoval beat Ramsey/Mulberry Grove 5-2 on Tuesday.  OPS broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth with 3 runs in the inning.  Drew Haines and Easton Johnson drove in Eagles runs.  Austin Hoffman had 2 hits at the plate.  Kyan Walker was the winning pitcher giving up 2 hits and no earned runs over five innings.  Alec Payne tossed 2 innings of scoreless relief for the save.  The Eagles head to Wesclin today.


Carlyle lost to Chester 2-0.  Daegan Foster had 2 hits for Carlyle as they fall to 6-13 overall and 2-5 in the Illinois Division of the Cahokia Conference.
