Duane Nollman, 79, of Centralia, passed away at Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehab on Monday, April 27, 2026. Born on Friday, September 6, 1946, Duane was the son of Eugene Nollman and Gwendolyn (Garren) Nollman in Centralia. He married Darlene McCarrey, and they later divorced. On November 19, 1983, he married Vicky Richmond, and she survives him in Centralia.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Vicky Nollman of Centralia; his sons, Duane Edward Nollman (Kimberly) of Centralia and Darren Nollman (Rebecca) of Centralia; his daughter, Elaine Marie Nollman-Novak (Gary) of Springfield. Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren, Kyle Caudill and wife Eva, Alexandra Skalicky and husband Steven, Victoria Ivy and husband Michael, Emily Roberts, Jacob Nollman, Chase Hosier, Chelsie Dunahee and husband Robbie, Cody Nollman, and Blake Nollman; and great-grandchildren, Kara, Leah, Alice, Landon, Noah, Charlotte, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Bentley, Anber-Lynne, Issac, and Gracen.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Nollman; his mother, Gwendolyn Nollman; his infant sister, Carolyn Nollman; his mother and father-in-law, John K and Gladys Richmond; and his brother-in-law John R. Richmond.
Residing in Centralia, IL, Duane was a well-known figure in the community, having worked as a driver for South Central Transit for many years. His warm smile and kind demeanor touched all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. A proud Marine, Duane honorably served in the Marine Corps from 1965 to 1975, including a tour in Vietnam, embodying bravery and patriotism throughout his service.
An active participant in several veterans’ organizations, Duane was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2055, and the AMVETS. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 446. Duane dedicated his time volunteering for veterans’ organizations, offering rides to those in need and assisting in funeral services for many years, showcasing his selflessness and compassion.
Duane was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church and a passionate Cubs fan, always cheering for his team with unwavering loyalty. His love for sports was only matched by his love for his family, who were the center of his world. He was known for his “Bad Dad” jokes, giving anyone a laugh.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Duane’s life at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with a visitation being held on Monday, May 4th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm.
