A 34-year-old Centralia man faces multiple charges in Marion County Court after entering a Centralia home with a probation department ankle bracelet in place.
Robert Earl Williams of North Lincoln Street is charged with aggravated battery for allegedly strangling the resident at his home with his hands on March 31st. He is accused of forcing his way into the same home the following day without permission resulting in a felony criminal trespass to a residence charge as well as misdemeanor criminal damage to property for causing less than $500 damage to the residence.
Centralia Police say the alleged victim was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment following the second incident on April first where during a 911 call Williams can reportedly be heard saying ‘where is she at’ and then glass breaking. Police say Williams ran from the residence before police arrived and was later taken into custody at his home.
Williams had been placed on GPS monitoring by the court as part of his earlier release on charges of aggravated battery to a pregnant person, unlawful restraint, and domestic battery . Police believe he was seeking to make contact with the victim of that case during the latest incidents.
Judge Mark Stedelin entered an order to revoke his pretrial release in the original case after finding there were no conditions preventing further commission of felony or misdemeanor offenses. The office of state pretrial services was also ordered to assist in finding a bed for inpatient rehab.
Williams’ public defender was appointed to represent him on the new charges. Williams is due back in court on all cases April 23rd.
