A 33-year-old Salem woman was formally charged in Marion County Court Thursday with felony intimidation and disorderly conduct in connection with a voice mail left threatening the driver and students on a specific Salem Grade School bus.

The voice mail was allegedly left by Marisa Starnes of South Lackey Street on the voice mail of an administrator at Hawthorn Grade School that was discovered on February 8th.  The charges state she threatened to inflict bodily harm on the bus driver if her complaints were not addressed.

Starnes was given a notice to appear in court for April 17th.

Salem Police at the time of the initial arrest said the voice mail included threats to drag children off a specific bus and do substantial harm to them as well as a specific driver.  She reportedly repeated the threat to police during their investigation.   Starnes indicated she was upset by her child being bullied.  She had been released at that time pending a formal decision on charges.

The Salem Grade School Board earlier this month banned Starnes from school property and events for a year as a result of the incident.
