A 36-year-old Centralia man has been charged with two counts of felony aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude police following an early Thursday morning police chase.

David Wilson of North James was also arrested on an Arizona State warrant in a burglary case.

Centralia Police say they initially tried to stop Wilson in the 600 block of South Poplar Street.  The chase proceeded to Calumet, north on Locust, to McCord Street where Wilson reportedly was traveling at 83 miles per hour coming off the overpass.  It eventually ended when Wilson stopped near the West McCord and Noleman Street intersection and was taken into custody without incident.

One of the new charges states Wilson was traveling more than 21 miles per hour over the speed limit.  The other is for disobeying at least two traffic control devices.

While he was released without bond on the new felony counts, Wilson remains in the Marion County Jail as Arizona officials complete the extradition process to return him to Arizona.
