The $5.5-million renovation of ‘A’ wing at Salem Township Hospital should be completed and ready for use in mid-March.
Interim Hospital President Lisa Ambuehl says work is slowly winding down.
“Things are shaping up and are still on schedule to be open up by the end of February. There is going to be some loose ends to take place that will take place due to shipping issues of equipment but we have a temporary plan in placed for that so we can still open. We are looking at fully functioning opening the clinic by mid-March.”
Ambuehl says three services will be moving to ‘A’ wing.
“There’s going to be 3 clinics housed up there. Our RHC which is currently located downstairs is going up, Dr. Mossad our primary care physicians who started with us October 15 will also have an office up there. We are also moving our Behavioral Health Clinic up there, that is also housed down there by Rural Health Clinic now.”
Ambuehl says the space cleared by the relocation will allow for the construction of a third operating room and a renovated emergency room. Preliminary design options are currently being studied.
Ambuehl reported to the board this week that the final items for the railing along the top of the new front entrance parking lot has now arrived and the finishing touches on that project should be completed in the next week or so.
