A 41-year-old Vandalia man has died from injuries sustained in an Ohio crash involving a brush-clearing crew based in Brownstown.
The victim has been identified as Keith Reno, Junior. He was part of a work crew from Landracorp, Inc. that was clearing brush along Ohio State Route 3 in Holmes County near Wooster, Ohio southwest of Cleveland.
Ohio State Police say the crash occurred Saturday afternoon when a pickup truck came upon the UTV Reno was operating along with a pickup truck that both had flashing lights. They were following a skid steer. The crash pushed the UTV into the pickup traveling with it. All three of the work crew vehicles were in the process of moving from one work site to another.
The release says Reno was taken to Wooster Community Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. The Ohio State Police say the seat belts for the UTV were buckled behind the driver when the crash occurred.
The report identifies the man who struck the UTV as a 30-year-old resident of Loudonville, Ohio. The driver of the pickup that was traveling with Reno was from St. Elmo with a passenger from Vandalia. They all escaped injury.
