The Salem City Council Monday night will be asked to award bids on two projects and consider approval of a new Emergency Management Agency Director.
The council will be asked to approve a $689,030 bid from JK Trotter and Sons for replacement of a main water line on South Broadway from Main to Kell Street. JK Trotter is the lowest of three bidders. The city is paying for the project through federal ARPA COVID-19 relief funds. The water line has had numerous breaks in the past.
The council will be asked to approve a $16,607 bid for purchase of new fencing for the Bryan Memorial Park dog park. City staff will install the fencing and oversee other improvements to the dog park.
Mayor Nic Farley has reviewed the applicants for the position of the Director of Emergency Management and is expected to announce his proposed applicant for the position. Current director Terry Mulvaney is retiring after more than 40 years.
The meeting will begin at six Monday night at Salem City Hall.
