The Centralia City Council approved additional mutual aid agreements on Monday night between the Centralia Police Department and other area departments.

The agreements are with Central City and Wamac Police as well as the Kaskaskia College Police Department.   The agreement allows the departments to assist each other in handling major cases or in times when additional manpower is needed.  The agreement is identical to the one entered between Salem, Marion County, and Centralia Police earlier.

The council approved a change in the make-up of the tourism board.  There will be one representative apiece from the Centralia Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development organizations, restaurant owner and business with tourism interest as well as four at large residents or business owners of the community.   One city councilman will also serve.   The council also added Greg Sutton and Kelsie Smith to the tourism board.  Julius Flagg was appointed to the Police and Fire Commission.

The council approved the purchase of a $17,265 utility vehicle for the cemetery from Okawville Equipment.
