Crossroads Community Hospital has received a five-star overall hospital quality rating for the second time in a row from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The rating is the highest possible rating a hospital can achieve. Only 263 hospitals out of 3,478 nationwide receiving a five-star rating.
Crossroads Community Hospital CEO William Davis says to be in the top eight percent in the nation for overall hospital quality is an astounding achievement.
Director of Quality Michelle Darnell says it’s impossible to be rated this high without everyone on the team working together to provide the best experience possible for every patient. She adds this is the second time that Crossroads Community Hospital has received a Five-Star overall rating from CMS since the introduction of the rating system in 2016.
According to CMS, the 2023 Overall Star Rating selects 47 of the more than 100 measures CMS publicly reports on Care Compare and divides them into five measures: Mortality, Safety of Care, Readmission, Patient Experience, and Timely & Effective Care.
Each hospital has a star rating that ranges from one to five stars, with five stars signifying the highest quality. Anyone can go to www.medicare.gov/care-compare to learn more about CMS’s quality rating system and local hospital ratings.
