Robert Williams of South Perrine Street had earlier been found guilty of the charge by a Marion County Jury. When getting out of prison, Williams will have to complete one year of parole.
Assistant State’s Attorney Tara Steele asked for the maximum ten-year extended term because of William’s past criminal record and testimony given by two Centralia Police officers and a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy of other charges pending against him.
Williams’ public defender Matt Wilzbach ask Judge Mark Stedelin to give Williams probation. Williams presented no evidence in mitigation but did make a statement to the court apologizing for his actions.
State’s Attorney Tim Hudspeth says he plans to pursue other charges pending against Williams.
