Kaskaskia College President George Evans is carefully watching COVID-19 numbers to determine how the school will begin the second semester.
Evans reports there has been an uptick with the close of the first semester, with three positive cases reported on Monday. He says with the rising numbers, the end of the semester couldn’t come soon enough.
Evans says depending on the COVID numbers received over the holiday break, the college may elect to start the first week of the second semester with online learning. He feels that would allow any positive cases due to family gatherings and traveling to develop before students return to campus.
Evans reports a plan is in place if they need to go to remote learning the first week of class.
