The Salem Aquatic Center is closed until further notice due to ongoing water clarity problems in the deep end of the pool.
Pool officials say it is making the pool unsafe for swimmers.
Recreation Director Jed Casburn says city employees have worked endlessly to remedy the situation, but the problems persist.
The city has now called in pool experts and is continuing to assess the situation. They are apologizing for the inconvenience, but note that obviously safety comes first. Casburn says they hope to reopen the pool as soon as possible.
The aquatic center has been closed for the past three days due to the problem.
Updates will be provided when more information is available.
