The Centralia City Council will be asked Monday night to give final approval to its annual Fiscal Year budget.
City Manager Scott Randall says the budget is balanced. A public hearing is scheduled for five before adoption is sought at the regular meeting at six that follows. There has been public comment about no money being included to replace or reopen the Fairview Park Pool and concern about possible elimination of funding for the Summer Youth Employment Program.
The council will also be asked to approve the annual tax levy that will include a two percent increase over property taxes collected earlier this year. The increase in the levy will be the first in more than a decade.
The council will be asked to continue the practice of waiving demolition fees for 2022.
A change in the Centralia Municipal Code will be considered to increase the surcharge rates for sewer users generating sewage containing excess levels of biochemical oxygen demand or suspended solids.
The council will also consider a $50 Holiday bonus for city employees.
The meeting will be held at city hall. The council meeting will also be available via Zoom.
