ATLANTA (AP) — Brad Davison scored nine straight points midway through the second half and finished with 27, leading No. 23 Wisconsin to a 70-66 win over Georgia Tech. The Badgers (6-1) carried a one-point lead into halftime before building a 10-point advantage in the second half behind the play of Davison. Michael Devoe scored 33 points for Georgia Tech (5-2), which had its five-game winning streak halted. The Yellow Jackets forced a tie at 61-all on a three-point play by Devoe with 5:27 remaining. Devoe scored 17 of his points in the first half.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Dereon Seabron scored a career-high 39 points with 18 rebounds and N.C. State defeated Nebraska 104-100 in a marathon, four-overtime Big Ten-ACC Challenge. The 39 points were also a record for the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. Ebenezer Dowuona scored four points for the Wolfpack but blocked a career-high eight shots. N.C. State had 11 blocks in all. Alonzo Verge scored 25 points for Nebraska (5-3) before fouling out in the final seconds. He had traded big, last-minute baskets with Seabron throughout the game’s six periods. Freshman Bryce McGowens added 24 points and nine rebounds for the Huskers.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Penn. (AP) — Sam Waardenburg scored 14 points and Kameron McGusty, Charlie Moore and Isaiah Wong each scored 12 and Miami beat Penn State 63-58 in a Big Ten/ACC Challenge game. Jaheam Cornwall made two foul shots to reduce Penn State’s deficit to 60-58 with 1:31 remaining. McGusty missed a 3-pointer on Miami’s next possession, but Jordan Miller secured the offensive rebound and McGusty followed the miss with a made 3 to seal it with 38 seconds left. Penn State used a 15-2 run and turned a 38-30 deficit into a 45-40 lead when Jalanni White made a layup with 12:16 remaining. John Harrar scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Penn State.

DALLAS (AP) — The latest meeting on expanding the College Football Playoff has wrapped up in Dallas without any announcement. Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby says the CFP management committee made good progress but works remains. The next meeting could come in January. CFP Executive Director Bill Hancock says there remains a strong consensus to expand the four-team field. How and when remain under discussion. A proposed 12-team model unveiled in June is still at the heart of the discussions. There is still hope it can be implemented for the 2024 season.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Malik Hall scored eight of his 15 points in a 1:34 stretch early in the second half, helping No. 22 Michigan State build a big lead it needed to hold off Louisville 73-64 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Spartans overcame 19 turnovers by playing well in spurts and making 10 of 18 3-pointers. The Cardinals fell behind by 20 points midway through the second half. Louisville’s El Ellis scored 16 of his career-high 22 points in less than six minutes, cutting the deficit to eight points with 1:26 left.

UNDATED (AP) — Championship weekend upsets that create College Football Playoff chaos scenarios are fun to consider. AP College Football Writer Ralph Russo says they never actually happen. In seven previous seasons of the playoff, only six teams that went into championship weekend holding a top-four spot did not make the field. In five of those cases, that team lost its conference championship game. Russo is picking Georgia to beat Alabama in the SEC title game; Michigan over Iowa in the Big Ten game; Oregon over Utah in the Pac-12; Wake Forest over Pitt in the ACC; and Oklahoma State over Baylor in the Big 12.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Justyn Mutts hit a jumper and 1 of 2 free throws in the final 20 seconds and Virginia Tech held off Maryland 62-58 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Virginia Tech (6-2), which led 31-29 at halftime on Hunter Cattoor’s 3-pointer in the final minute, fell behind 43-36 on a dunk off a rebound by Julian Reese with 11:58 left. Cattoor and Nahiem Alleyne sank 3s to bookend a 13-3 run that put the Hokies up 49-46 with 5:54 remaining — and they never trailed again in ending a six-game losing streak to the Terrapins (5-3).
