A 55-year-old Salem man faces multiple charges following an early Sunday morning police chase and altercation with police.
Ronald Sands of Hickory Lane is being held in the Marion County Jail for aggravated fleeing and eluding police, resisting arrest, criminal damage to government-supported property, and aggravated battery to a police officer.
Initial information from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department is that Sands failed to stop for police on Barham Road, with an attempt to stop the car continuing to Lazy Acre Road southwest of Salem.
The chase began just after midnight Sunday morning.
