A 20-year-old Centralia man has been placed on 24 months probation after pleading guilty in Clinton County Court to obstructing justice in connection with a March 2020 shooting incident at a Westside apartment building in Centralia that injured two.
Dalton Garrison had four other charges dropped against him as part of the plea agreement. They included three Class X counts of aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm and a single count of arson. Garrison was also given credit for 256 days served in the Clinton County Jail.
The obstructing charge claims Garrison concealed himself from law enforcement with the intention of preventing the arrest or obstructing the prosecution of himself or co-defendant Trevin Hendricks.
Hendricks pleaded guilty last month to two counts of aggravated battery and obstructing justice. He also received a 30-month probationary term.
The two are accused of shooting Andre Johnson and Ricardo Little who they have been ordered to have no contact as part of their probation.
Centralia Police said at the time of the incident two men were shot outside the apartment and went to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia on their own before being transported to a St. Louis hospital. Police indicated the shooting was not random, but the result of a disagreement. A vehicle believed to have been involved in transporting Hendricks and Garrison was later found burned, leading to the arson charges.
