The CHS school board introduced plans for this year’s tax levy as part of a regular board meeting on Monday, November 29. The school will request a four percent levy increase but expects to receive less. Because the possible increase is limited by county numbers, Superintendent Chuck Lane expects the final levy increase to be between one and two percent.
The student council report mentioned that the Red Cross blood drive hosted at CHS in November collected 63 units of blood, two short of its goal.
Student Council sponsor Suzan Tyberendt mentioned that several individuals who signed up to donate were deferred for health concerns such as low iron or weight. Student council is also participated in the BCMW Adopt-A-Family Christmas program, doing Christmas shopping for a local family in need. On Monday, December 6, students are scheduled to receive ALICE intruder training via in-class video presentations. On Thursday, December 9, the CHS band will hold its annual Christmas concert with the performance starting at 7:00 P.M. Semester Exams will begin Friday, December 17 and end on Tuesday, December 21, the final day of the semester. Report cards will be sent out December 22.
