Salem Township Hospital has received notification that it has been reaccredited for another three years following an extensive on-site survey by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program or HFAP.
Hospital Administration Alex Nazarian says in a separate survey conducted this summer the hospital’s lab was also reaccredited for a two-year period.
“The auditors that came over were all impressed with the quality and facility we have, how up-to-date our policies are, and how good our quality of services are as well. So I was very pleased when I saw the reports last month and it’s excellent. This is how we maintain our 5-star rating.”
Nazarian says the survey of the lab is very detailed about the equipment.
“By whether our lab is performing at the utmost quality and our processes, procedures and policies are up to date. Our equipment is fully calibrated and certified to be functional.”
HFAP is one of the voluntary accreditation organizations authorized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to complete surveys to assure compliance with the Medicare Conditions of Participation and Conditions for Coverage. The compliance then allows the hospital to provide medical treatment to Medicare and Medicaid patients.
