The Kaskaskia College Board received its annual audit report Monday night and were told no material weaknesses or deficiencies were found.
Chris Suda of Clifton Larson Allen also commended the college staff for making the audit process go very well.
College President George Evans is pleased.
“It ties into our whole commitment to transparency and effective communication as an institution. I cannot claim any of the credit, I have to credit our Chief Financial Officer Judy Hemeker and her entire team for such an unblemished report. Especially for the public to understand this audit obviously occurred during the height of the pandemic and thereafter and having to manage all the different regulations with the pandemic and keeping our finances in such pristine shape says something about that team.”
Evans says he was also pleased the audit found the college in a very strong fiscal position and the reserves were where they needed to be.
The college board moved forward on the reroofing of the “L Building” and the Fine Arts Addition. Glandt Roofing LLC of East Carondelet was the lowest of
four bids submitted at $454,865. The work is not part of the large bond issue approved at the last meeting.
After review of the job duties, Evans announced they would now be seeking a full time athletic director instead of a 30 hour per week position.
The board also acted on a number of personnel issues:

- Aryashree Kharel – Assistant Professor of Chemistry

- Joy Fitts – Associate Dean of Workforce Engagement and Industrial Careers
- Gina Cagle – Adult Education and Literacy Education Coordinator
