The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats will play for their Class L Region 7 title at Centralia today at 4:15 when they take on Carlyle. The two teams have split games this season with Carlyle winning early 12-1 and Salem winning in the middle of the year 7-5.
Yesterday in Class S, Hanleigh Schmidt drove in 4 runs on 2 hits leading St Mary/Willow Grove past Sandoval 16-0 at Rotary Park in regional semifinal play. Briella Alcorn had a pair of hits as well as Devyn Dodillet-Tomlianovich and Destiny Black. Tomlianovich was the winner allowing no hits and 5 strikeouts in 2 innings. Alcorn pitched an inning of relief. The Wildcards advance to Friday’s regional championship at 4:30.
Also in Class S, Iuka opened up the Patoka Regional with a 15-5 quarterfinal win over Selmaville. Lilly Krajefska went 4-4 including a double in the win. Shaylee Vest and Madilynn Borcherding each drove in 2 runs, Grayce Rose had 2 hits. Vest was the winner allowing six hits and 1 earned run over 5 innings. Gia Ward and Khaler Whueler each had 2 Lady Rocket hits and Ward drove in 3 runs. Iuka will play Patoka on Friday in one semifinal.
Raccoon won their quarterfinal 12-0 over Field. Nadea Crist went 3-4 with a double. Julianna Rushing went 2-3. Emerie Cluck was the winner giving up no hits over 2 innings with 5 ks. Crist and Rushing worked in relief. Raccoon will play Rome in the other semifinal after their 18-0 win over Odin.
In Region 6, Waltonville is in the title game after a 9-0 win over Bluford. They will play the winner of tonight’s game between St Mary/OBR and Summersville.
In Class M, Woodlawn won their opener over Fairfield 10-2 and will play NCOE in the finals after they beat Wayne City 13-3.
