Two young brothers were killed, and a third escaped without injury after fire broke out at their Farina home early Saturday morning.
Fayette County Coroner Dave Harris pronounced 19-year-old Brandon Fulk and 18-year-old Zachary Fulk dead on the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in Springfield.
Harris says no additional information is being released at this time because the investigation into the fire is ongoing.
Farina Firemen were assisted at the scene by Kinmundy-Alma, Altamont, St. Peter, St. Elmo, Edgewood Bi-County, Watson and North Clay Fire Departments. Both the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and Farina Police were on the scene along with Rural Med EMS. The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office is also involved in the investigation.
