An 18-year-old Salem man involved in three separate altercations in April and May has entered a guilty plea to charges involving all three.
Tyree Wilborn of Charleston Road was one of those involved in a Bryan Memorial Park attack on the occupants of a car driving through the park on May 19th. He pled to mob action in that case in exchange for aggravated battery, possession of a knife, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon dropped.
Wilborn pleaded guilty to aggravated battery for an alleged attack on another juvenile who was walking on the Roddy Road on May 11th. A charge of mob action was dropped as part of the plea in that case.
Wilborn also pleaded guilty to obstructing justice and aggravated battery to a police officer after kicking a correctional officer at the Marion County Jail on April 25th while being booked following a traffic stop. Charges of illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm and ammunition without a FOID card and resisting arrest were dropped. The correctional officer had to seek hospital treatment.
Sentencing for Wilborn on all charges is set for September 16th.
