Patoka Post 543 is still alive at the Junior Legion state tournament with their 9-8 elimination game win over Jerseyville. Austin Hoffmann came through with a 2-run double to walk it off in the bottom of the 9th inning. Patoka found themselves down 6-0 in the bottom of the seventh before a 6-run rally tied the game and sent it to extra innings. The big blow was a Ryker Dodson bases loaded triple. Then down 1 in the 8th, Ky Walker singled home the tying run. Walker was the winning pitcher allowing 1 hit and 1 run over 1 inning. Owen Caldwell was the starter with Brantley Brumfield and Dodson also pitching in relief. Patoka will play in another elimination game today at 10am against the loser of Carol Stream and Paris.
