Glen Edwan Butts, age 90, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 5:22 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Willowbrook Memory Support Residences of Effingham. He was a member of the St. Peter American Legion Post# 37. He loved dancing, playing bingo, instant lottery, and spending time with his family and friends.
There will be a walk-through viewing from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Peter, Illinois. The funeral service will be a private family service. Jim Giffin will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in St. Peter, Illinois. Memorials may go to Farina American Legion bingo fund for a game in honor of Glen at a later date or the donor’s choice.
He is survived by his sons, Randy Butts of St. Peter, Illinois and Mike Butts (wife Jill) of St. Peter, Illinois; daughter, Cindy Grunloh (husband Rodney) of Dieterich, Illinois; sister, Wanda Osterhaus of Clarksville, Tennessee; 3 grandchildren, Zak French (wife Rachel), Cody French, and Tyler Butts (wife Mary) and 3 great-grandchildren, John French, Teegan Butts, and Taelynn Butts.
Glen was born on August 18, 1930 in Alma, Illinois, the son of Benjamin and Grace (Copple) Butts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Grace Butts; brothers, Darrell Butts and Harold Butts; sisters, Rochelle West, Edna Heichart, and Adelle Rhoades; grandchild, Garth Benjamin Wayne Butts.
