The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 65 additional COVID-19 deaths on Saturday, including three in South Central Illinois. The department is reporting the death of a female in her 60s and male in his 70s in Clay County and a female in her 70s in Washington County.
There were a total of 3,345 new confirmed cases on Saturday.
The Metro-East Region continues to fall under the 20-percent threshold for ICU beds, but the availability has improved to 19-percent. The availability has to be above 20-percent for three days to move to the next reduced mitigation level. The region’s positivity rate has fallen again and is now at seven-percent.
The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days fell to 4.0%. The Southern Illinois rate is now at 5-percent. Marion County’s rate is at 3.3-percent. The East Central Illinois Region is at 5.1-percent.
The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 2,357 doses of vaccine administered in Marion County with 418 fully vaccinated. That’s 1.1-percent of the population fully vaccinated.
In Clinton County, 3,939 doses of vaccine have been administered with 946 fully vaccinated. That’s 2.51-percent of the county full vaccinated, the highest percentage in South Central Illinois.
In Jefferson County, 2,544 vaccine doses have been administered and 512 fully vaccinated. (1.35% of population)
Fayette County has had 956 doses administered and 156 fully vaccinated. (0.76% of population)
In Clay County, 1,145 doses of vaccine have been administered with 193 fully vaccinated. (1.46% of population)
In Washington County, 1052 doses have been administered and 227 fully vaccinated. (1.62% of population)
In Wayne County, 1,288 doses have been administered and 214 are fully vaccinated. (1.73% of population)
No county has yet reached having 3-percent of its population vaccinated. Alexander County has the lowest vaccination rate of just 14 residents in the county fully vaccinated.
