BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Trayce Jackson-Davis scored 21 points in 21 minutes and No. 13 Indiana made 10 3-pointers to pull away from Bethune-Cookman 101-49. The Hoosiers have won their first two games by a total of 87 points. They’re 10-0 all-time against opponents from the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Joe French had 11 points and Marcus Garrett added 10 to lead the Wildcats. Indiana rebounded from a sluggish first five minutes with a 20-2 run that gave them 39-19 first-half lead. Bethune-Cookman never threatened again.
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — C.J. Wilcher made four 3-pointers and scored a career-high 21 points to lead Nebraska to a 75-61 victory over Omaha. Wilcher, a 6-foot-5 guard from Plainfield, N.J., was 8 of 12 from the field. Sam Griesel added 18 points for Nebraska (2-0). Emmanuel Bandoumel made two 3s and also had 18 points. Blaise Keita grabbed 12 rebounds and chipped in nine points. About halfway through the second, Omaha’s Luke Jungers made a layup and Jaeden Marshall converted a four-point play to get the Mavericks to 55-48 but didn’t get closer. Marshall scored 16 points for Omaha (0-2). Marquel Sutton added 14 points.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Camren Wynter scored 18 points and Penn State made 16 3-pointers in a 90-65 victory over Loyola Maryland. Myles Dread made four 3s and Wynter three. The Nittany Lions hit a program-best 18 3-pointers in their season-opening 93-68 win against Winthrop. Dread and Kebba Njie scored 12 points apiece for Penn State (2-0). Seth Lundy added 10 points and Jalen Pickett had 11 assists, two shy of his career high. Wynter, a grad transfer from Drexel, also grabbed four rebounds to reach 500 for his career. Jaylin Andrews scored 23 points for Loyola Maryland (0-2).
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Sophomore Julian Reese finished with career highs of 19 points and 12 rebounds to power Maryland to a 71-51 victory over Western Carolina. Reese sank 7 of 9 shots from the floor and all five of his free throws, picking up his first career double-double. The Terrapins improved to 2-0 under Kevin Willard, who was the head coach at Seton Hall from 2010-22. Jahmir Young added 16 points for Maryland, while Hakim Hart scored 10. The Terrapins shot 44.3% overall but just 10.5% from 3-point range (2 of 19). The Terps had just 10 assists on 27 baskets. Tyzhaun Claude topped the Catamounts (0-2) with 12 points and seven rebounds.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Two of the more notable games on Friday’s college basketball schedule are taking place on an aircraft carrier and in a baseball stadium. No. 2 Gonzaga will be facing Michigan State on the flight deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln in the San Diego harbor to celebrate Veterans Day. Wisconsin is playing Stanford at Milwaukee’s retractable roof American Family Field. Staging neutral-site games in non-traditional sites isn’t new. Michigan State coach Tom Izzo refers to his program as ‘Outside the Box U’ because the Spartans have played plenty of games at unusual locations over the years.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Zed Key had 17 points and 13 rebounds for his second straight double-double, Brice Sensabaugh scored 14 points and Ohio State beat Charleston Southern 82-56. Key secured a double-double in the first half with 13 points and 10 rebounds to help Ohio State build a 46-22 lead. Charleston Southern was just 9-of-31 shooting in the opening half, including 1 of 11 from 3-point range. Ohio State had a stretch in the second half of 17 straight points scored by freshmen to make it 74-47. Sean McNeil added 13 points and Justice Sueing had 11 points for Ohio State. Tahlik Chavez scored 13 points, Claudell Harris Jr. added 12 points, Taje’ Kelly had 11 for Charleston Southern.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — No. 2 Ohio State showed a few cracks in its unbeaten armor is last week’s 21-7 win over Northwestern. The Buckeyes will likely get back on track this weekend when they host five-touchdown underdog Indiana on Saturday. The Hoosiers have lost six straight. Ohio State hasn’t said whether top back TreVeyon Henderson will return. Indiana will start quarterback Connor Bazelak.
