The State Fire Marshal’s office has been called in to try and determine the cause of a fire that heavily damaged a rental home at 115 Clinmar.
No one was at the home when the fire department arrived late Thursday night to find the fire had already consumed the back of the home and carport. Firemen were able to keep the fire spreading to the front of the home, but it received heavy heat and smoke damage.
There was melted siding on two neighboring homes at 517 West Broadway and 119 Clinmar from the radiant heat.
Firemen say the house was owned by Paula Gepke and apparently was rented, although the name of the renter was not immediately available.
There were no injuries.
All off duty city firemen were called in. Sandoval and Centralia District Firemen assisted at the scene and Odin manned the downtown Centralia Fire Station in the event of another fire.
