Robert “Bob” Marlow, 91, of Salem, Illinois, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
Bob was born on October 4, 1934, in Omega Township, the son of Douglas and Eileen (Holzhausen) Marlow. He married Dolores (Schwartz) Marlow on December 17, 1955, and she preceded him in death on October 11, 1998. He later married Gussie Marlow, with whom he shared more than 20 years together.
Bob was a hardworking and dedicated man throughout his life. He owned and operated Bob Marlow Locksmith Service and also served as a District Manager for Mac Tools out of Effingham. Known for his strong work ethic, Bob continued working up until the time of his passing.
He enjoyed a full and active life, especially golfing, bowling, and hunting. Above all, he valued staying busy and took pride in his work and independence.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dolores; and his siblings, Ted Marlow and wife Wanda, Gary Marlow, Coleen Sims, and Nancy Parks.
Bob is survived by his wife, Gussie Marlow of Salem; son, Tom Marlow of Westland, Michigan; daughter, Tami Wilber of Westland, Michigan; grandson, R.J. Wilber; brother-in-law, Tom Parks; stepchildren, Delmer McNeil and wife Anita, Keith McNeil and wife Tammie, Lawain McNeil and wife Pam, and Shannon McNeil and wife Debbie; along with several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with a time of visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Elder Cemetery in Kinmundy, Illinois. Online condolences and memories can be left at www.CrouseFH.com.
