The 13th Annual Locust Street Fair will be held in the 100 and 200 blocks of South Locust Street in Centralia on Saturday.

Community Development Director Gayla Harting says there will be 60 vendors including a dozen food and drink vendors that will run from ten to two.

“The 100 block is our children activity area as well as arts and craft vendors set up through there,” Harting said. “In the Illinois Theater building we will have the Cultural Society set up with displays and a U.S. military long arms display with items from 1776 through 1952. Out in front of the theater, we’ll have an Elmwood Speaks performance, which is always a highlight of the fair that a lot of people like. They’ll perform at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.

The trolley and a handicapped accessible bus will take people to view Elmwood Cemetery.

There will be a car show and display by the Antique Power Club in the 200 block of South Locust.   The Centralia Historical Museum will also be open.

The theme of the children’s area this year is Carnival Games.

As a result of the South Locust Street Fair, there will be no through traffic or parking in the 100 and 200 blocks of South Locusts Street from 7:30 am to three pm.
