Brenda Owens, 76, of Salem, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 26th, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born March 12th, 1950, to Paul and Clara (Blackburn) Henson in Salem, Illinois.
She is survived by her children: Kerry (Heather) Henson, Doug Krutsinger, Josh Owens (Halei Greenwood), Heather Phillips (Shawn Thompson), and April Owens (Bradon Sellers); twenty grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brothers: Darrell (Joann) Henson and Jerold (Marilyn) Henson; and sister: Paulette (Jack) Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Paul and Clara Henson; brother: Dennis Henson; and longtime partner: John Titus.
Brenda was believer in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of the New Life Church in Salem. She was known to always have a hippie free spirit. She loved music and karaoke. She enjoyed puzzles and coloring, but she had a real talent with drawing. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, even though her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, retired. The biggest joys of her life came from spending time with her family and animals.
A memorial service will be held on Friday May 1st, 2026, at 5:00 pm at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Claude Howell officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 3:00 pm till the time of service. A private family burial will take place at a future date.
