It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Ray Glenn, who departed this world on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on Monday, October 20th, 1958, in Centralia, Illinois, David is the son of George Glenn and Barbara (Sieberg) Glenn. He was a cherished resident of Irvington, IL, and a beloved member of his community.

On September 24, 1988, he married Karen Hanson, and she survives in Irvington.

David is also survived by his brother, Curtis Glenn (Tracy) of Spokane, WA; sisters Carol Dobyns of St. Libory, IL; Bonnie Coyne (Bill) of St. Louis, MO; and Mary Meyer of Tennessee. Preceded in death by his father, George Glenn, and mother, Barbara Glenn, two children, Joseph and Matthew Glenn, and two brothers, Kenny Glenn and Bob Glenn. David’s spirit now joins theirs, cherished in memories and stories.

A self-employed carpenter, David’s skill and craftsmanship touched many lives. He possessed a gift for fixing anything and everything, having worked in construction since the age of 13. His talents extended beyond his work as he built homes, barns, and sheds throughout local towns, leaving a lasting legacy in the structures he crafted.

David’s passion for life was evident in his love for collecting old soda bottles and antiques — a cherished pastime he shared with his father. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting squirrels and rabbits, riding motorcycles in his younger days, and camping adventures with his children and grandchildren.

A member of the Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon, David’s faith was reflected in the kindness and generosity he showed to everyone around him. His presence was a blessing to all who knew him, and he was well-loved by family and friends alike.
