Bond was set at $150,000 in Marion County Court on Monday for a 62-year-old Salem man charged with two Class X felony drug offenses.
Olen Meadows of North Harrison was charged with possession of 400 to 900 grams of methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
Both require a minimum sentence of eight to 40 years in prison upon conviction with a fine of up to $200,000. Meadows had the public defender appointed to represent him.
Meadows was the driver of a vehicle involved in an early Sunday morning traffic stop by a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy on South College Street in Salem. Over two pounds of methamphetamine in two sealed bags were allegedly recovered along with $3,742 in cash. The drugs were found after canine Freddie alerted on the vehicle.
No formal charges have yet been brought against a passenger in the vehicle. 32-year-old Jolee Graham of Allmon Street in Salem remains in the Marion County Jail. A charging decision is expected on Tuesday. Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say she had 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine in her possession.
