In Little League Major’s at the Complex, Lions beat Rotary in a thriller 5-3. Rotary was up 3-2 heading to the bottom of the fifth when Lions took a 5-3 lead on an RBI single by Walker Crank and an inside the park 2-run home by Walker “Splash” Sherwin. Caleb Squibb and Rhett Starnes also had hits for Lions. Scout Puricelli started on the mound going 3.2, striking out 10, giving up 3 runs. Landon White closed it out going 2.1 while striking out 3, holding Rotary scoreless to close it out for Lions.
IGA knocked off Americana 5-2.
In softball play, Dairy Queen came away with an upset win over Landers 4-3. Gabby Goostree was the winning pitcher going 2 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 runs with 5 strikeouts. Ziva Owens came in with the save. In the win, Jorja English, Grayce Rose and Lillian Myers all had a hit and RBI. Kenzie Collier had the walk-off single to end the game. In the loss, Alana Howe had 2 hits and a run, Chelsea Haines had 2 hits and 2 runs and Brylee Carter also had 2 hits.
Modern Woodmen beat T&K Title 8-7.
