The Centralia Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting Wednesday to welcome C-town Twist to the community.

Co-Owner Jeff Castellari used the occasion to announce expansion plans. He’ll be adding an 18-hole miniature golf course. He’s hoping it will be open in late August or September.

Castellari, who serves on the city council, says he landed on the idea of creating a custard ice cream business because Centralia didn’t have anyone providing the service. He said he saw the opportunity and decided to take the risk.

Castellari constructed the C-town Twist building on four acres of property he owns at 127 East Calumet. It has dining outside as well as a drive-through window. Castellari says C-town Twist will operate year-round. The miniature golf course will further develop what started out as a less than desirable block.

Castellari says the business that first opened on March 8th has received overwhelming support and has exceeded expectations. He currently has 18 employees.

Castellari returned to Centralia after retiring after 20 years in the rail industry and was elected to the city council in April of 2021.
