The 2026 Marion County Talent Show roster still has many spots open for the talent show happening on August, 2nd.
The age brackets include 14 and younger, and 15-21 age ranges. Individual and group acts are both allowed. Talents may include: dancing, Singing, instruments, tumbling, magic, etc. Professional talents who have been paid for their expertise are not allowed to participate in the talent show. Winners of both age brackets will move onto the fully payed for trip to compete at the state talent show in Springfield in January.
Minors wishing to participate must have a parent’s permission.
Rules for the Talent Show:
1. A professional entertainer is someone who has a lot of experience or skill in a particular job or activity. For this contest you MAY NOT PARTICIPATE if you have been paid fees for performing in your area of talent. Example: A specified activity as one’s paid occupation rather than as a pastime.
2. The entry or act can only represent one county fair. Each fair may enter only one Junior and one Senior act per year. Entries must represent the county in which they won an actual talent competition in 2026. The runner up act may represent if the winner cannot compete.
3. Any act the performs over the 4 minute time limit will be disqualified. The contestant is not to give an introduction to their act. The MC will introduce each act.
4. Age limits for each division a. Junior Division: All contestants can be 14 years old or younger on the date and date of the local contest. Junior Division contestants can be 15 years old when competing at state level in January, if they meet the age requirements at Marion County Fair. b. Senior Division: Contestants cannot be over 21 years of age on the day and date of their local contest. They can be 22 years old when competing at the state level in January if they meet the age requirements at the Marion County Fair.
5. One piano and floor mics are the only equipment furnished.
6. Judges decisions will be final.
7. There will be a setup time limit of 4 minutes per act. This will be controlled and timed if necessary.
8. To lesson sound prop confusion, when using a USB drive recorded accompaniment, only the song the contestant is using shall be on the USB Drive. No Like talent is allowed on the recording such as; vocal, tap dancing, any like instruments. This will be carefully monitored.
