The Richland County State’s Attorney’s office has charged a 25-year-old Olney man was six counts of first degree murder in connection with two deaths in Olney on Tuesday.
Dylan Jones was arrested as part of an investigation into the deaths of 52- year-old John D. Jones, Jr. and 73-year-old Deborah J. Jones who were found dead by Olney Police and Richland County Sheriff’s Department in two homes in the 400 block of East Monroe Street in Olney.
The Illinois Department of Criminal Investigation says their initial investigation indicates Dylan Jones struck John Jones in the head with a sharp-edged instrument and stabbed Deborah Jones with a knife.
The coroner is conducting medical examinations to determine official causes of death.
