The 1a/2a baseball sectionals open up today. The North Clay Cardinals will play at Effingham taking on Okaw Valley starting at 4pm. In other action, Goreville will host Waltonville.
The Vandalia Vandals, fresh off their regional win over Salem on Monday afternoon, will travel to Teutopolis to open their 2a sectional against Columbia starting at 4pm. Defending 2a state champion Freeburg will take on Harrisburg at Benton.
The 3a regionals continue. Centralia is the site for the semifinals with Marion and Mattoon playing at 4 followed at 6pm by Effingham and Charleston. Also at Highland, Mascoutah takes on Taylorville followed by Highland and Civic Memorial. Mt Vernon is a regional host and will play at 4:30 today against Olney. Triad will host Cahokia.
